CALIFORNIA HERE I COME!

I JUST GOT BACK FROM A WEEK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND THE NAMM SHOW
It is always a treat to visit family, friends, the beach and warm weather in January. NAMM was amazing. I was there courtesy of Spaun Drum Company, the finest drums made. Spending time with them at NAMM reminded me of why I love these drums so much. Thank you Brian Spaun and Dave Pimental. I also met alot of other great people.Jeff and Kathleen Kelly of Kelly Shu mic mounting systems and John Stannard of Hammerax are two new companies I’m proud to be working with. The folks at Modern Drummer magazine were great to meet as was Jonathan Mover with Drumhead magazine. Find out more about these great people and products on my links page. I also had the pleasure of meeting Billy Ward. Billy is a great drummer and educator. He has been a big influence on my approach to drumming. I had a great time hanging out with him. Every drummer should check out his cd’s and dvd’s. I met alot of other folks too numerous to name. But, they all made NAMM a memorable experience. Well…..back to the snow!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

WHAT GREAT COUPLE OF MONTHS!
The Ashworth CD release party was a really special night. Our opening performers, Ric Hordinski and Wolfy, gave fantastic performances. We felt embraced by them as well as the audience. In December, I performed in a Christmas production called, “Imagine Christmas”, at Vineyard Community Church in Greenwood, IN. It was the coolest one of it’s kind that I’ve ever done. My wife, Kathryn, was the music director. She did an amazing job of pulling all of the musicians and singers together to make it happen. Combined with the staging, dance and other media, it made for several powerful performances.

Siochain brought in the new year at the Claddagh Irish Pub in downtown Indianapolis. 2007 saw us do approximently 115 shows throughout the midwest. Our 2008 schedule looks to be just as busy. We will also release our second album this year. I’ll keep you posted.
